Hi all!

This has been one crazy summer for me and I haven’t had a chance to do much new art 😦 I had this LARGE canvas just sitting behind my easel for a few years and I decided to use black gesso on it (which I LOVE). I’ve been staring at the black canvas for a few weeks and decided to sketch something on it. This is what came out of my head in 5 minutes! I like it! Still lots more details to work on but I’m taking pictures of each stage to view the progress. I’m trying to take more risks with my art and not plan things out but just go with what comes out. It’s a hard one for me sometimes which is so funny because I’m a very spontaneous person. What do you do that helps you get past your artistic blocks and planned out canvases? I could use some help in that area! I will continue to post progress photos. I still need a title but figure that will come once it’s finished. So what do you think? I’d love to hear!

  1. I like the way this is coming together. I like the black gesso. You have given me an idea. For blocks: journal without editing (written or visual), go for a walk in the horticultural gardens, do a craft project with my kids.
