Well this has been weeks in the making and I’m so very excited that I participated this year in the Bead Soup Blog Hop put together by the fabulous Lori Anderson. As most of you know I dabble in jewelry making and I would love to one day be doing it full-time. I still love making art, don’t worry, but there is just something about handmade jewelry! I’m hooked no obsessed with making it, buying it, admiring it and more! I was thrilled when I saw a post from one of my jewelry making guru friends on Facebook about this event. I hope I can participate on a yearly basis. I received my beads from my swap partner Barbara York in TX and let my box of beads sit for a while until inspiration hit me. I had told her I loved aqua’s/corals/reds together and this is what she sent me:
One day when I was feeling creative I just started making links and the necklace then evolved! I really love how it turned out and I hope you do too. I used some of my artisan beads as well. There is a Gardanne enameled bead, and a handmade blue bird bead from someone I can’t remember now (I blame my prego brain.) I had enough beads to make an entire set that I can mix and match whenever I want to. I plan on keeping this set for me and every year that I participate as well. OK enough rambling from me…. here’s what I came up with:
So? What do you think??? I’d love your feedback. Also you can see all the participants blog’s right from this link. PLEASE check everyone out over the next few weeks. We are all revealing on the same day but there are so many participants (over 300) who knows you may find a new favorite blog to visit! After all it is a BLOG HOP! Happy hopping!! 🙂

Aimee – just posted but then this popped up! I absolutely LOVE what you did with your mix 🙂 – from the unique asymmetrical necklace to the multi-strand bracelet and beaded earrings. What a fun mix of metals, beads and colors – you did a fabulous job!
Gorgeous creations. I too love coral and turquoise together, but never actually use them together.
I love the colour combination you received..one of my favourites. I like how you put the necklace together asymmetrically and also the dangles on one side..that little bird is too sweet! I also really love the fullness of the bangle and how there are multiple strands, very nice pieces.

Wow, I have to say, for someone who ‘dabbles’ in jewellery making, you’re doing it like a pro! You’ve definitely made the blue and red colour combo work for you here, I think you’ve got the balance just right. Well done on a job superbly done 😉

Very nice!
I love those colors and really, really love how you pulled it all together. Beautiful!
Lovely work! I really like the way you combined the turquoise and red in all three pieces. Such a classic, appealing combination
What a gorgeous collection you have made. They compliment each other so well without being matchy matchy as they say on Project Runway.
This is so pretty Aimee! This color combination is beautiful and you mixed your soup perfectly!
I love turquoise and red together, too! Nice work.
Very cool! So many people have done some asymmetrical things I think I just have to try that now.
Lovely pieces! The color combination i really nice!
You made some beautiful pieces there with a great color combo!
Love it!! I did a red and aqua creation as well!
Awesome! I love these colors, you did an excellent job with your designs 🙂 Thanks for sharing! XO, Amanda
That is a really beautiful color combination! Love the design you created. I like the asymmetry of it.
Great job, love the asymmetric necklace and the color combination. Actually, the necklace looks one of those fancy ones which can be disassembled to use part of it as a bracelet? But that’s not the case, is it? It probably makes me think of those designs because you decided to put the clasp at the side. Well, some neat idea for the future maybe! And that little birdy is übercute. *steals it* =D
Great work with vibrant beads. Love the color combinations
I really love what you did with this soup! The red and turquoise color combination is a favorite of mine! Nice work!
Love this color combination…and your recipe for a showcase piece! This is going to be fantastic with denim!!

Lori
Love this color combo beautiful!
I am SO sorry for being late — today our internet provider decided to crash. My stress level is through the roof, to say the least! They’re still working on it, but it’s like dial-up.
I LOVE the side detail on your necklace — I’m a firm believer in unexpected details making a piece not look store-bought and meh — know what I mean?
I’m so glad you joined us, and I hope you’ll participate again!
Love, Lori
Thank you Lori for putting this together! I’d love to participate again! Unfortunately my partner didn’t post about getting her beads or making something with what I sent her. Kind of bummed about that but the event itself is fabulous!!! 🙂 Looking forward to future ones!
I love how you pulled the set together! Very fresh!
Love the color combo & you pieces are lovely!

Love how you layered the necklace, very nice look and very Florida too!
What a great color combination you got – and I too like the layers and asymmetrical-ness of it all!
Great job on your pieces! I think you did a wonderful job, and love the composition. I love the combination of coral and turquoise together!
I love what you did with the necklace and the bird accent. I could really see myself wearing the bracelet, the balance of materials in it is great it looks very “wearable” and comfortable. Often I end up with bracelets that are too chunky or the balance is off and it doesn’t hang right once I put it on. Yours seems to be perfect,i bet its comfortable on.
Carrie T
Thank you so much Carrie!
fabulous creations! life’s too short to wait…get stuck in and start creating jewellery sweetie…..

m.e. 🙂
I love the color combination in this. It’s such a challenge to mix these colors well. You really don’t want one to overwhelm the other. I think you did an excellent job. Congrats on a beautiful piece!
Great piece!
Great variety from a lovely soup – coral and turquoise is one of my favorite combos. Like the fact that the focal is so uncluttered in the necklace. And so great that you used it all to make such lovely things. I struggled just to get a necklace done…
