  1. Aspartame is poison. Knew this for a long time. Sugar isn’t so good either. I cut back but, it’s not easy. Using stevia

I just read this article and I guess it’s one of those things that everyone knows about, but; it’s sort of like “Out of sight, out of mind”, but eventually it’s going to catch up to us. I changed to Equal years ago, thinking that sugar was bad for me, but with all the additives in food now, this is definitely slow poison.

I grew up with freshly made foods, (breads, pies, pancakes, biscuits, etc), there wasn’t the constant barrage of junk food out there, or if there was, it wasn’t in our house. We simply couldn’t afford it, with 8 kids, my Mom learned how to make a chicken or a pound of hamburger feed 10 people. In todays day and age, it’s just too easy to grab and go. Shortcuts, microwaves, instant this and that. All the food companies are just giving us what we want, and very few of us realize that we are, indeed, poisoning ourselves. Gotta stop somewhere or we’ll be popping pills from the time we’re born until we die.

      • Strangely enough, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve slid into the habits of the times, so I’m finding I need to start making major changes.

You know what they say, better late than never, so I’ve started small and I’m hoping I can stick with it. As much as I preach to my girls; one has, unfortunately developed many of my not-so-healthy eating habits. The other is the complete opposite and eats very healthy, stays away from junk foods and soda.

We need to eat more at the table as families, stop so much munching, and definitely get back to a more natural way of eating. The preservatives in foods are out of control. Many European countries don’t even allow some of the crap that’s in our foods.

      • It’s easy to do! I’ve gotten better in the last month because I started using emeals.com and I’m doing the clean eating menu. Life is easier and I’m eating healthier. Best of luck!
